Tool Kit 4 (80m2 - 100m2 Roof)
FRK Tool Kits contain the essential tools required to complete a fibreglass roofing installation from start to finish. The contents and quantities have been developed from over a decade of supplying GRP roofing materials through our trade counter, where we’ve seen first-hand what installers actually use on site.
Each kit includes mixing buckets, GRP acetone, consolidation rollers, application rollers, brushes and extension poles so installers can work efficiently during both the laminate and topcoat stages.
Unlike many cheaper kits on the market, our tool kits are built around real installation requirements, not just the lowest price point. Some competitors reduce tool quantities to make their kits appear cheaper online, but installers often find themselves needing additional rollers, brushes or buckets halfway through the job.
When comparing tool kits, always compare the total number and type of tools included, not just the headline price.
After all, what costs more — a few extra tools you’ll eventually use, or time wasted leaving site to visit the merchant mid-job?

FRK Tool Kits contain all the core tools required to install a fibreglass (GRP) flat roofing system. Each kit has been assembled based on years of experience supplying installers through our roofing trade counter.
Rather than supplying the bare minimum, our kits account for the realities of roofing work — including lost rollers, contaminated brushes, hardened tools and the need for clean mixing equipment throughout the installation process.
Many competing tool kits reduce quantities to appear cheaper online. However, installers often find themselves short of rollers, brushes or buckets halfway through the job.
For this reason we recommend always comparing kits like for like based on the number and type of tools included.
A few extra tools in the van will always cost less than losing time leaving site to source more tools mid-installation.
Designed Around Real Installation Workflow
GRP roofing installations are often completed by two installers working together.
Typically one installer lays the laminate while the second installer follows behind consolidating the laminate using paddle rollers. Our kits include multiple extension poles and consolidation rollers so both installers can work efficiently during this stage.
Dedicated rollers are also included for topcoat application so laminate rollers are not reused.
GRP Acetone for Cleaning and Surface Preparation
Each kit includes GRP acetone for cleaning, surface preparation and tool maintenance.
Acetone is used to wipe laminate before applying the topcoat. This not only removes sanding residue but also slightly softens the laminate surface, helping promote good inter-laminate adhesion.
This step is particularly important if there has been a delay between laminating and topcoating.
Acetone is also essential for cleaning brushes and rollers during the installation process.
Solvent Resistant Rollers and Brushes
GRP resins and topcoats are solvent-based materials which can quickly damage standard decorating tools.
For this reason our kits include solvent-resistant rollers and brushes designed to withstand polyester resins and acetone cleaning during installation.
Cheaper decorating rollers can soften, distort or break down when exposed to GRP materials, which is why specialist rollers are used.
Latex Gloves for GRP Work
All gloves supplied in our tool kits are latex gloves.
Latex gloves offer much better resistance to solvents such as acetone and polyester resins compared with cheaper disposable gloves which can quickly perish when exposed to these materials.
Clean Mixing Equipment
Correct mixing is essential when working with polyester resins and topcoats.
Our kits include multiple mixing buckets so resin and topcoat can be mixed separately, helping prevent cross contamination between materials.
Extra buckets are also included to allow for normal site waste or buckets that cure prematurely during warmer weather.
Anyone who has worked with GRP knows that losing a bucket of catalysed resin on a hot day is not unusual, so we account for this in the kit quantities.
Designed for Real Site Conditions
During warmer summer months installers often reduce catalyst levels to slow curing times, yet materials can still react quickly in the bucket.
This frequently leads to lost rollers, hardened brushes or contaminated tools.
For this reason our tool kits include additional rollers and brushes, helping ensure you have sufficient tools available to complete the installation without interruption.

Built From Trade Counter Experience
These kits have been refined over years of supplying fibreglass roofing systems to installers across the UK.
And of course, we still occasionally meet the customer who insists they can complete a 100m² roof with three rollers and a brush — but most installers prefer to have the right tools on hand.
Our tool kits simply make the job easier.
